Who needs a book like this? Really, what is special about this book. manufacturers laugh about the credibility of these people and only support it for free press. Parents seem to like it and hate it. I seem to think the whole thing is stupid.
I would not buy this book for a penny. Buy Consumer Reports or Kim Danger’s 1000 Baby Bargains instead.

A few months ago I was pregnant with baby #1.. I saw this book on amazon.com but hesitated to buy it because my husband and I were waiting for baby before we planned the room, etc. Now that our little bundle of baby boy joy is here, Reagan Cornelius will need lots of things. I came today to buy the book but after reading the latest reviews from other readers about the credibility of the content and the author’s, I’m a little ambivalent. I did buy the Consumer Reports book and hope that one will tell me everything I need to know. As far as this book is concerned, it’s a little low on the radar of top book lists and I think readers should be concerned about what readers are saying. I did a little poking around and some of the 5 star reviews read with such anger at lower star reviewers comments. I think anyone who loves a book could honestly care less what another reivewer is saying -unless— of course there was some ego or cash deal involved. So, I have to say…this is all a little fishy. I think also that there are so many internet sites that offer this information too.

I found this book to be tempting due to its format and the the fact that I can’t resist coupons. I did however find the title misleading. I assumed that it was a more up to date Consumer-guide book. I would still suggest that you use common sense and shop around….you can find good deals if you are a good shopper….and the authors should come up with a better title rather than suggesting that everyone is a dumb shopper and needs their help. It dilutes the legitimate content that is actually in here. I find the title a little insulting.

This book is biased and discriminates against gay parents and the average blue collar worker who can not afford much. YOU DO NOT SAVE MONEY with this book. There are no coupons, no deals, no information on how to save money.
The authors kids are teenagers so they rely on a few opinions of other people with kids to get their information but they are all from non-gay parents. A better source
is Babies R Us in store service that is FREE or their newsletter. (…)
