This book is right on. I read this book at least twice while I was pregnant. Now that I have my little one, I reference it about every week to make sure I am on track. Obviously, every baby is different and you have to listen and learn what your baby wants but this book is a great guide on getting your baby to sleep.

In my opinion, you have to read the book and take notes to really understand Babywise. If you skim it, you will end up like one of the bad reviews.

I purchaced this book and paid the hefty charge to have it the next day. It did not come for five days. When I contacted Amazon, they said the would refund the shipping (after I spend over 45 minutes on the phone), but it never was credited to my account. Last time using Amazon.

Babies have died from parents following the advice of this godforsaken book. It is awful and a selfish way to raise your baby. DO NOT buy this book. Follow your instincts, trust your gut - feed your baby when it is hungry, sleep with it, she or he will grow up secure and healthy.

I wanted to give this zero stars but that was not an option. If you see this book at your bookstore, ask them not to carry it. If you see it at the library - mis-shelve it or better yet - throw it out!!!

A sickening, disgusting book that is helping to destroy this country. Satan works extra hard in hospitals and anywhere a newborn is, since they are the foundation of God's people. The latest media alert by the American Academy of Pediatrics says it all: A strong correlation with this book has been documented in Babies who have failure to thrive and dehydration.

I'd really rate this book at 0 stares.
This book shares more of the philosophy and methodology of behavioralism, in my opinion. You remember from your college days, John Watson, BF Skinner??? Using rigid classical and operant conditioning??? For a better book, try reading The Strong Willed Child.
Why do I know what I'm talking about? I have children and degrees in secular psychology from a university as well as a couple graduate degrees from a conservative, evangelical seminary. So what?
Any book like BabyWise or others that claim you must do parenting some way over another, or else you are sinning against God is WRONG. Remember everyone who makes claims like this has to INTERPRET Scripture and tell you what they THINK God is saying for us today. Interpreting commands from the Bible and Bible examples for us to follow today are just that-- interpretations! There are many ways to interpret the Bible--and some are much more substantiated than others. If God has shown us anything in the Bible, isn't it that we ought not to be proud people? That we need to be humble? We need to call our opinions, opinions! Not fact and not "you have to do this or you're sinning against God!" Too many readers, speakers and authors make these mistakes.
There are some DIRECT and CLEAR commands in the Bible that are easily interpreted, well substantiated, and for us to obey today. Parenting plans and specific routines in the Bible are not as direct and clear as many others So, please, understand that parenting methods in books like To Train Up A Child and BabyWise are nothing more than opinion! Interpretations vary--and yes that includes my interpretations of the Bible and in my opinions expressed in here. Let's not lie to others, let's not theologically rape laypeople, and let's not be proud in expressing our interpretations of the Bible and opinions as WORDS of God when only the Bible can make that claim. Our opinions are NOT the same as the words written in the Bible!
